Bed search

Bed search is a Professional and Enterprise feature that replaces manual ward walks and phone trees.

Filters

• Occupancy status (available, reserved, etc.)
• Department
• Building / floor / unit scope
• Equipment and isolation tags
• Free-text query across room and bed labels

Command palette

Press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) on the Buildings page to search hierarchy nodes and jump directly to a room drawer.

API

GET /api/v1/buildings/search?q= returns matching hierarchy nodes for authenticated admin sessions.

Best practices

• Keep bed tags current (negative pressure, bariatric, pediatric)
• Use consistent room numbering across buildings
• Restrict search roles to bed managers who need cross-unit visibility
